Elspeth
McKay joined the Operation Come Home team in December
2007 with over 25+ years of experience as a senior manager
in the not-for-profit sector.
She has dedicated much of her time to raising funds
and to developing innovative approaches to community
economic development, including supported employment,
education and social business with those that are disabled
and / or economically disadvantaged.
Elspeth
works collaboratively with a number of private, public
sector and social service partners and continues to
develop and implement unique and innovative programs
and services to those who are marginalized. Elspeth
has provided leadership and consultation to a number
of not-for-profit organizations and the federal and
provincial governments.
Elspeth is a member of the National Community Economic
Development Network, the Alliance to End Homelessness
and various local networks and coalitions. Elspeth has
an educational background in Criminology and Conflict
Resolution. Elspeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree,
a graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution from Carleton
University and recently graduated from the Ivey Leadership
Program in the School of Business at the University
of Western Ontario.
Elspeth is an advocate for street involved youth and
has a strong belief in the mandate of Operation Come
Home both regionally and across Canada. Elspeth is dedicated
and compassionate about her work and embraces a strong
work ethic and a belief that street youth require the
same opportunities as everyone else.
